Tips to get listed on Google within 30 minutes – Wordpress SEO!
How much time does Google take to index your page?
Last week I published a post and then a little later wanted to check some facts relevant to the post, Guess What!! I found my post on the second page of Google search results.
I was shocked and wanted to confirm if it happens with all the posts. So I wrote a post on my other blog and keep refreshing Google to see how much time it takes to index the post. I calculated the time and it took around good 5 hours.
I was a little confused so decided to do some more research on this. A little later I figured out the difference and now I am going to share it with you.
So what’s the difference?
The difference is the plug-ins I am using on my blog. I am sure this information will help you to get listed on Search Engines. Below are the plug-ins that I am using on the Blog that gets indexed within minutes.
Google XML Sitemaps
We all read a lot about submitting sitemap to http://www.google.com/sitemaps. This plug-in will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog. It supports all of the WordPress generated pages as well as custom ones. Every time you edit or create a post, your sitemap is updated and all major search engines that support the sitemap protocol, like ASK.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO, are notified about the update.
All in One SEO Pack

hi mohit, actually i wisht know… how do the two plugins actually work?? i have installed them but i dont really know how to use them?
for the xml thing, we created the 2 files n upload via ftp right?
and for the SEO thing? how do we actually use it?
After download the plug-ins you need to unzip the files. Every plug-in you download has a readme.txt file with step by step instructions.
You can also visit the develper’s website you will find their web-link under Plugins tab.
Follow the instructions and do let me know if you need any further help.

I use both of those plugins right now, but recently took down the Google Sitemaps after I noticed a big drop in traffic. I’m going to measure traffic and see if I’m better off with or without it. Great post!

Another good plug in is Related Posts plug-in. This outputs posts that are related to the post a visitor is reading so he can easily navigate through your blog and quickly find all posts related to his interest.
It helps to SEO too because it interlinks related posts.

No Wonders, That is power of XML sitemaps. I already have both of them and I think there is nothing better than them for SEO and indexing purposes. I am amazed to see power of that XML tool because there is nothing to edit manually. On many of my sites I had been using Joomla just for that purpose, to get keywords separately for each page and now i have this on wordpress as well. Thanks Wordpress, you are a blessing for webmasters.

Using sitemaps and blog & ping, you can get indexed really fast. If you’re blogging about current events, you can get index even faster. Really big trends can get indexed in a matter of minutes, especially if your domain has a good bit of authority.

There are a variety of ways to get listed quickly and this is a good one. However, it seems that SEO Optimization for highly competitive terms might not work. What have you found? I have requested follow-ups so please let me know.
@SEO Optimization: I totally agree with you that its just a waste of time to optimize the site for highly competitive terms, however we can play around with keywords to get more traffic from local search. Google trends play is a good tool to research on these keywords.

I’ve used google XML sitemaps on a number of my websites but recently I’ve had to create a google sitemap for all the articles in my blog which I’ve recently converted over to wordpress.
I found the Google XML Sitemaps plugin you mentioned above and I managed to get the installed and up and running in no time. Its very simple and definately a must for everyone.
I was really annoyed by a plugin for sitemaps for wordpress because it never let my site updated and be crawled. I had no listing in Google webmaster tools/sitemp for specific keywords. Perhaps it had some configuration errors but I am really happy when I see it in action after reinstalling and upgrading. Perhaps it was some version error. I think it is most easy to SEO a wordpress blog with help of its cool tools.

That is a very interesting process. I have tried different things in the past to speed up the index process with google, but it is always still a few days at least before my site is indexed. I have never thought about the plug-ins though, I will definitely try it. Thanks for the all in one seo pack too.
