Everybody who owns a web site or a blog is concerned about improving search engine rankings and the quality traffic coming to their web sites. Some of us still have a few questions in mind like:

What is Search Engine Optimization?
If you are new to this term its very important that you know the basics and importance of Search Engine Optimization and before explaining this term I would like to ask you a very simple question.
What’s your browser’s homepage?
While researching on this question I found that almost 16% of users stick with About:blank that’s a blank page waiting for you to enter your faviorite URL. Others have their home page set to Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Community Websites, Web Portals or personalized home-pages with other websites.
Now all these pages have one common feature - "The Search Box"
According to a research done by forrester.com, 80% of Internet users reach websites through Search Engines so its a great way to increase the traffic to your website.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) involves making Web Pages more search engine friendly to promote them as the most relevant results for internet users. Search Engine Optimization is basically about the difference between achieving top rankings in the search results, which can result in thousands of monthly visitors or just a bunch of web pages hosted on some server and testing the patience of the users to search till the last page of the results and the chances are your website is not even listed there.
Search Engine Optimization includes keyword research, optimizing the essential META tags and HTML tags, Link Popularity, Search Engine Submissions, Directory Submissions to bring in targeted traffic that is organic, i.e., from search results.
